Most of the 1,308 townships in Ohio belong to the Ohio Township Association (OTA). This is an organization that exists to assist townships in planning, insurance coverage and other matters that are helpful to township administrators, as well as providing a voice to the Ohio legislature on behalf of the townships. They also sponsor a conference each year that provides educational classes on a variety of subjects for trustees and fiscal officers. Township trustees and Fiscal Officers are the primary members and there are 4,498 members at this time. Non-elected persons can become associate members simply by registering and paying $10 yearly dues. Currently there are 3,533 associate members. Van Wert County leads all counties with 323 associate members. Suffield Township has about three associate members. The OTA honored Portage County recently when they announced that the Portage County had the highest percentage of increase in associate members; 40% for the past year. Portage County also had the highest raw number of new members with ten new associates.

Recycle Pick Up Monday January 25th & Tuesday January 26th
Zoning Hearing Postponed Until January 26th
The Suffield Township Board of Trustees have postponed their public hearing on Zoning Resolution changes from January 12 to January 26th. The meeting will convene at 7:00 PM in the Suffield Community Room.
Trustee Meetings Now Open To Public
The Suffield Township Board of Trustees will hold their regular meetings at the normal times. These meetings will still take place at the Suffield Community Room at 1256 Waterloo Road. Social distancing will be required, but otherwise they will be open to the public. Because of distancing guidelines, access to the meetings will on a first come, first serve basis. Welcome back!
Suffield Township Website Passes 635,000 Visitors Since April 1, 2015
As of January 15, 2021, Suffield Township's website had 635,252 visitors since April 1, 2015. Since the "new" website was adopted, the daily viewership has risen from about 40 per day to over 391.36 per day. Thanks for taking a look at "suffieldtownshipohio.com". Tell your friends about us.
TOWNSHIP COMMISSIONS
Wingfoot Lake State Park
Wingfoot Lake State Park is Suffield's only park. It was opened by the Ohio State Parks & Recreation Department in 2009. Goodyear had operated the park since the 1960's as a private playground for its employees and for corporate retreats. As the company footprint grew smaller in the Akron area Goodyear decided to close the park in 2006. Town Hall Rental
