Mogadore Boys Get Big Lead, Then Hold On To Beat Field 69-55, Field Boys Blow Lead and Lose To Cloverleaf 57-54, Field Girls Lose To Springfield And Kent Roosevelt, Mogadore Girls Drop One At Ellet 48-38

The Field boys made the short trip to Mogadore (10-5) to play the Wildcats on Tuesday January 25th.  The Wildcats jumped out to a 20-5 first quarter lead, and led 37-18 at the half, but had to struggle to hold on in the fourth quarter as Field (2-12) narrowed the lead to seven points on several occasions.  Ultimately, the Wildcats prevailed 69-55 with Mason Williams scoring17 points, Layne Miller scoring 12 and Mason Murphy adding ten.  Field was led by Xander Rorrer with a game high 19 points.  The Falcons added a game on Wednesday January 26th against Cloverleaf.  They led through most of the game until early in the fourth quarter when Cloverleaf took the lead and ended winning 57-54.  Braxton Baumberger scored 18 for the Falcons.  Field plays Woodridge on Friday January 28th at home at 7:00 PM.  The Mogadore boys play at Lake Center Christian School on Friday January 28th at 7:00 PM. The Mogadore Wildcat (9-6) girls went to Akron Ellet on Saturday afternoon January 22nd and played well enough to win, but instead dropped a game that was closer than the final score of 48-38.  Jocelyn Lawrentz scored 16 points and Brook McIntyre added 12.  The Wildcat girls host Warren John F. Kennedy on Wednesday January 26th at 7:00 PM.  The Field (4-11) girls traveled to Springfield and lost to the Spartans 50-47 on January 19th.  The next night they played at Kent Roosevelt and were beaten badly 66-32.  No Falcon scored in double figures.  Their game at Woodridge on Monday January 24th was postponed due to weather.  No make up date has been announced.  The Falcon girls play Streetsboro in Brimfield on Thursday January 27th at 7:00 PM.

Board of Zoning Appeals Has Hearing On February 15th 

The Suffield Township BZA has scheduled a hearing on Tuesday February 15th at 8:00 PM to hear a request for a variance.  The owners of 2200 State Route 43, Emhoff Upholstery, wants to open an upholstery business and an antique shop at that location.  The hearing will be held at the Suffield Community Room.  All are welcome.   


Historical Society Looking For Old Field High Yearbooks

The Suffield Township Historical Society is hoping to complete their collection of old Field High School, and old countywide yearbooks.  These were originally known as "Speedometers".  Needed are books from the following years: 1916, 1917, 1918, 1923, 1924, 1935, 1945, 1946, 1949, 1953, 1958, 1962, 1963, 1964 and 1965.  Call or e-mail Elizabeth Vence at 330-354-3625 or "" to donate old books or to learn more.


Card Bingo Changes Game Times

After a log absence, the very popular "Card Bingo" will make its return to Suffield Township on Sunday July 11th.  The games will be played at the Suffield Community Room at 1256 Waterloo Road.  Doors will open a little before 3:00 PM and the games begin at 300 PM.  Bring your neighbors and a couple dollars in change and enjoy the evening. 


Suffield Township Website Passes 800,000 Visitors Since April 1, 2015

As of January 9, 2022, Suffield Township's website had 800,220 visitors since April 1, 2015.  Since the "new" website was adopted, the daily viewership has risen from about 40 per day to over 372.66 per day (thirty day moving average).  Thanks for taking a look at "".  Tell your friends about us.








Wingfoot Lake State Park

Wingfoot Lake State Park is Suffield's only park.   It was opened by the Ohio State Parks & Recreation Department in 2009.  Goodyear had operated the park since the 1960's as a private playground for its employees and for corporate retreats.  As the company footprint grew smaller in the Akron area Goodyear decided to close the park in 2006.  To learn more about the park, such as rental of the facilities, visit the park's website:

Town Hall Rental

The historic Suffield Town Hall can be rented by residents and non-residents for various events.  For complete information on the availability, costs and regulations on renting the Town Hall, please call the Town Hall administrator Shannon Eldreth at 330-807-0384.
