Carl Rufener's tractor collection
Surely one of Suffield's most treasured collections was Carl E. Rufener, Jr's tractors. Aside from appearances at the Memorial Day Parade and the Portage County Fair, these tractors were parked along Congress Lake Road from time to time to allow people to appreciate these time-honored machines. Rufener auctioned off most of his 75 or so tractors in October of 2014, but word has it he may be starting a new collection. Photo courtesy of Jeff Childers.
